General Purpose Exhibition
Candlemas 2024/5 Exhibition
General Purpose is Art Soc’s first exhibition in Victory Memorial Church Hall, the theme reflects the versatility of the space many of us walk past daily without exploring further. These works recognise intrigue and beauty found through attention to mundane and ordinary things. We are proud to showcase the talented work of our members and their diverse and generative interpretation of General Purpose. If interested, check out our Gallery for more details.

A range of the beautiful artwork displayed in the exhibition.
On the opening night we welcomed the artists to celebrate their work alongside friends and members, with a social afterwards. The artwork at the exhibition is shown below. This exhibition not only showed a beautiful range of artwork but shows the diverse perspectives that people have on the unique theme of ‘general purpose’. Overall, this exhibition was fabulous, so a big thank you to all the artists who submitted artwork but also to the amazing exhibition coordinators Isobel and Darcey! If you enjoyed this exhibition or are now interested in future exhibitions, keep an eye out on this website and our socials for next semester’s exhibition.
